Good news for the festive season, as the regional government of Andalucía are relaxing some Covid-19 measures. The president of the council, Juanma Moreno, informed the 8 million plus habitants of Andalucía, the changes to the current State of Alarm will run across a two-phased period and stated that the government wish to breathe oxygen into the Spanish economy while still protecting the population. New conditions are as follows:
Phase 1: from Saturday 12th of December until Thursday 17th of December. The changes for this stage are: Movement between towns within the regional province will be permitted and that shops and other commercial activity can remain open until 9pm. Bars and restaurants are to remain with the same hours as present, closing at 6pm. No change in the current night curfew which is from 10pm to 6am. Private gatherings to stay at a maximum of 6 people.
Phase 2: from Friday 18th December until Sunday 10th January. Movement from one region to another region will be permitted. Commercial activities can trade as per their usual hours. Restaurants and bars to close in the afternoon at 6pm and then allowed to reopen from 8pm to 10:30pm. The night curfew to be extended by 1 hour to 11pm. Exceptional night curfew for the dates of: 24th, 25th, 31st and 1st is 1:30am. On these exceptional dates, gathering of up to 10 people are permitted.
Air travelers from ´´High Risk´´ countries must provide a negative PCR test result to enter the country. On the 10th December it was announced that either a PCR test or a TMA coronavirus test result will be accepted. The results can be presented in English, Spanish, German or French. Children under the age of 6 are exempt from needing to present a negative test result.
Other noteworthy news is that on the 18th December Sierra Nevada will open their installations.
